7th Grade Vermilion Game Rescheduled

The 7th grade game against Vermilion has been rescheduled for this Friday, April 17th. It will be home and start at 4:30pm.

Game Information

It's game time! 

- The games start at 4:30pm and we play 7 innings 

- The girls will stay after school for both away and home games. They need to bring all of their softball equipment with them to school. 

- For an away game, a bus will pick up the team usually between 3-3:20. The bus will bring the team back to Learwood after the game is over. If your daughter will not be riding the bus back with the team, you need to inform the coach either with a verbal or written note. 

- I would encourage your daughters to bring a healthy snack after school especially on game days. 

-Water is not always provided so it is crucial that your daughter brings either water or gatorade to all games, especially on hot days.

- Not all game locations have bleachers or enough bleacher space for all the spectators. I would suggest throwing a camp or lounge chair in the trunk of your car just in case. 

- We will most likely have a few postponed games due to the spring weather. If a game gets postponed or cancelled, there will be practice after school from 3-5. The Avon Lake Athletic Schedule page will be updated regularly.

The Varsity softball game against North Olmsted this evening has been CANCELLED due to the weather. Enjoy your evening and remember we do not have an optional practice tomorrow.

Thursday, April 2nd Reminders

We're so close, it's almost spring break. Here are a few reminders:
- 7th grade practice is from 3-5 and 8th grade practice is from 5-7 (Thursday, April 2nd)
- The deadline to order apparel is TONIGHT! See the previous blog below for instructions.
- 7th & 8th grade spring break schedule:

• Friday, April 3rd- No Practice
• Monday, April 6th- Optional Practice 12-2
• Tuesday, April 7th- Optional Practice 12-2
• Wednesday, April 8th- Optional Practice 12-2
• Thursday, April 9th- Meet at the Varsity Field (4:30) to watch the Varsity game verse North Olmsted
• Friday, April 10th- No Practice

April 13th is our first game! Let's pray for nice weather! I hope everyone has a great break.

Softball Apparel 2015

The girls were given a handout last Friday regarding softball apparel for this season. The girls are not required to order anything. However, if you or your daughter would like to purchase some spirit wear or a helmet please follow the directions on the handout. All of the orders will be completed online at www.bsnsports.com. Our access code is shorem3PY. It will take about 2-2.5 weeks for the order to arrive. With such a short season, the deadline to order the apparel online will be this Thursday, April 2 at 9pm.

Just a reminder to all girls I need emergency medical forms in. Also practice on Friday will be from 3 to 5 instead of 5 to 7.

Congratulations on making the team! We are very excited to officially start our season. Hopefully the weather will be on our side this season and we will be out practicing sooner than later!
